My typical cohorts are project managers, department heads, branch managers, chief information officers and IT specialists of all kinds. I also get plenty of opportunities and like to interact with end users, whose input is in many cases the only thing that really determines whether a software project will succeed or fail.
Ultimately I see what I do as helping folks extract more value out of how and what they can do with information. To a BBA I am a business analyst. To an IT manager, I am a programmer. Regardless of the specifics, the bulk of my work is about researching and implementing solutions to loosely defined problems. The rest of the work is about modeling (and making securely accessible) data that a business generates so that it will be easy to analyze, move and use across various systems and applications.
I accomplish this by leveraging various skills and technology at my disposal:
- Business analysis and software requirements generation
- Information architecture and process engineering
- Business software integration using web services
- SSIS ETL solutions
- CRM Systems Customization (CDC Pivotal; MS Dynamics)
- Database administration (MCTS: SQL Server 2008, Implementation and Maintenance)
- Enterprise IT infrastructure and network management background
I optimistically look forward to exploring the best opportunities where my skills can be gainfully applied!
